Is the increase in price warranted from that of the DR PA I already know of the separate left and right input channels on the 260 as opposed to the PAs linked or mono input chain, as well as more delay on the 260 than the PA.What other differences are there between these two units Also is the 260 capable of being run as a 4-way output (Without me using 1 inputs channel, lets say the left, for 3 frequency bands and the right channel for 1 frequency band). The 260 is a serious piece, and you can easily configure it to do just about anything you need that uses up to 2 inputs and 6 outputs. The extra dollars spent are well worth it for just the extra parametrics in the output section, never mind the additional delay time, routing, and INPUT PARAMETRIC section.
Hell, it was worth the extra for the individual output mutes alone. The wizard made set-up a breeze With a minor tweak here and there, the parametric eq in conjunction with the crossover processing makes necessary main eq adjustment unnecessary. I then set the internal graphic eq to taste and then the IRQ for guests can remain flat. There is literally MORE features than Ill ever find a use for.wo over processing the system. As for GC pricing, Ive found that they are VERY competitive with the 260 for some reason but the rest of the dbx line is tyically more expensive. In addition to all the internal things that are different, you can run the 260 from a computer, which will save you tons of time and frustration, especially the first time you set it up. ![]() But as far as the Driverack PA being an embarrassment, I dont know if thats true. I mean, the DRPA came first, and if it hadnt been somewhat popular, and also had so many people complain about the lack of certain features, they might never have introduced the 260 at all. So, I think it definitely had its place, although I dont know why they still make them. ![]() BTW thanks for providing those links and thanks for everyone else with their comments. When we went to Alpha at the beginning of the year, we moved our 480s to the monitor racks, and started playing. After proper application of Smaart, I was able to get a Beta58A up to 117dBC with a pair of wedges and no graphic EQ at all. Dbx Ack 260 Software Serial Number 76No, actuall, the 480 came first, and I have serial number 76. When the DRPA was introduced, I suddenly had to qualify the DSP choice on all the tech advances. Before then, you said DriveRack, and that was the end of the discussion.
